Rage Against the Machine

Show Information:

Date:
1997-09-18
Venue:
Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre
Location:
Irvine, CA USA
Tour:
Evil Empire - North America Leg 2
Notes:
Setlist is taken from a review by Josh Comay, who noted that the Roll Right jam included parts of Wind Below and Zapatas Blood. A review in the LA Times, written by Sara Scribner, indicates that Rage opened with People of the Sun, and played Bullet in the Head, Fistful, and Bulls. A different review by Troy Augusto in Variety said they played, "an unrecorded and untitled song that railed against corporate entities such as NBC, which the band has sparred with in the past, and Disney. The song’s jazzy intro hinted at what might be expected from the band’s next recording session.". The official 1997 live home video from Rage has Tom Joad and Vietnow from Irvine as well. Someone reached out to me who atttended the shows and said they played Vietnow and The Ghost of Tom Joad both nights, as well as Darkness of Greed.
